SAN: Killer ions destroy bacteria and viruses
|
| Standard items in special technopolymer with antimicrobial action designed for environments and applications requiring total sanitization and long lasting hygiene.
|
|
- The proliferation of bacteria and micro-organism deposits on surfaces gives rise to barrier effect biofilms normally consisting of various microbes of different types and species.
- The formation of such biofilms and the resulting barrier effect make removing microbes even more critical as they compromise the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents.
- This special antimicrobial technopolymer has a crucial double role as it prevents once and for all bacteria, micro-organisms and biofilms from forming, avoiding subsequent treatments with antimicrobial agents.
|
Antimicrobial action
- When a microbe ingests silver ions they destroy cell walls thereby killing the microbe.
- Silver ions bind microbe cell walls thus preventing cellular "respiration", causing lysis of the microbe.

Test
Samples of this material have undergone laboratory tests in compliance with JIS Z 2801. The microbes used to carry out these tests are the ones which present the greatest resistance to antimicrobial products:
- Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352.
- Escherichia coli ATCC 8739.
- Staphilococcus aureus ATCC 6538P.
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 12055.
